The experience and creativity of At Your Service is invaluable when it comes to helping you choose an appropriate type of service or event and making it into a time of tribute and honour.   Whatever type service you choose, Stephen or Sarah from At Your Service meets with family or friends to tailor it specifically for the deceased and include the wishes of those charged with making the arrangements. For any type of service and in any venue, whether the gathering is outdoors or indoors, in a hall or chapel, traditional or informal, we can help you affirm the life of the one you loved.

To help you know your options we’ve listed below some of the most common types of services along with a brief description for each one. However, if you do not see what you had in mind, please contact us and we’ll help you plan a fitting time of tribute.

Celebration of Life – At Your Service understands that many people want this kind of service because it focuses upon the deceased’s life and not upon some religious rituals. A celebration of life is a non-traditional event that allows for creativity in style, content and location,  if so desired. We offer many ideas and options for celebrating a life and we can help you design and carry it out.

Committal of Ashes – This brief service focuses upon spreading cremated remains or enclosing them into a niche or ground plot. It is what people refer to as “saying a few words” at that event.

Funerals – Funerals are services where the casket is present and may involve burial as part of the event. These tend to be more formal and traditional.

Graveside – Crematory Service – This brief service takes place at the cemetery or crematorium. It involves remarks of remembrance, committal and blessing.

Memorials - Memorial services are moderately traditional in style and setting but there is no casket or burial as part of the event.

Memorial teas – This is a relaxed time that takes place in a private home, seniors centre or any reception centre. Along with a time to visit and chat about the one who has passed away, a brief time is faciltated when some words of tribute or stories can be shared.

Green Services – This eco-friendly, graveside service involves the mourners in the process of memorial and burial.  After a simple time of tribute, the body, which is shrouded , is buried by those present.
